The team go to the Mestalla after six wins and a draw.
Olímpic de Xàtiva, Osasuna, Espanyol and Atlético de Madrid are the sides that Real Madrid have left behind in their run to their third Copa del Rey final in four years. The Whites are the side who have made it to the most finals, 39 including this year, and go into the game at the Mestalla having scored 13 times without conceding in the tournament.

Fourth Round: Real Madrid - Olímpic de Xàtiva (2-0)
The Whites started their campaign against the Valencian side, who play in Group III of the Segunda B. The first leg was played at La Murta on artificial grass, and finished 0-0. In the return leg, Real Madrid made it through to the next round with few problems, winning 2-0 with goals from Illarra and Di María.

Fifth Round: Real Madrid - Osasuna (4-0)
The Bernabéu witnessed The Whites take hold of the tie. Goals from Benzema and Jesé made progression easier before the visit to the always difficult El Sadar. There, Ancelotti’s men also won 0-2 (Ronaldo and Di María).

Quarterfinals: Real Madrid - Espanyol (2-0)
The side went to the Cornellá-El Prat in the first leg and it was decided by good football and great defensive work. In the first half Madrid enjoyed the best chance and Benzema put them ahead. The Whites defended their lead in the second half, when the home side pushed on (0-1). At home, it was Jesé who sealed the win with a nice goal (1-0).

Semi-finals: Real Madrid - Atlético de Madrid (5-0)
First and second in the league faced off in the more attractive, and difficult, of the two semi-finals. The Whites held the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu and downed the visitors in a terrific game (3-0), goals from Pepe, Jesé and Di María effectively meant the tie was over. In the second leg, a double from Cristiano Ronaldo in the first 20 minutes sealed the side’s place in the final.
