In his first season he was the most used right-back and he featured in the final of the Undécima. The Brazilian came on in the second half to replace the injured Carvajal at the San Siro. The following campaign he once again lifted the European Cup when Real Madrid secured the Duodécima in Cardiff against Juventus, the team he would move to years later.

Along with the Champions League, the legendary team coached by Zidane also won the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and LaLiga in the 2016/17 campaign. He started the decisive game that clinched the league title against Malaga.
