Caring for infants and youths, the main goal of the Foundation, is achieved through the care of minors in a conflictive family or social situation. By means of 47 socio-sporting football schools, some 5,000 boys and girls in Spain are educated in weekly training sessions with the “They play, we educate” programme, with the Fundación Real Madrid's general educational philosophy; “For a REAL Education: Values and Sport”.
With 15 socio-sporting schools in the Community of Madrid, the Fundación Real Madrid's socio-sporting basketball schools set the standard for education, integration and inclusion in a Sport for Everyone. More than 600 pupils at the socio-sporting basketball schools are educated in their weekly training sessions with the “Values and Basketball Initiation”.
The Fundación Real Madrid focuses its activities on infants and youths but, while this is the priority, it also provides care for adults, as well as groups in Hospitals, Prisons, Shelters and Detention Facilities, where values are taught that will accompany the participants throughout their lives.
