Real Madrid beat Valencia in the final at Montjuïc on 9 June 1946.

Real Madrid lifted their eighth Spanish Cup on 9 June 1946. The opponent was Valencia and the match was played at Montjuïc in Barcelona. Our team dominated from the start and took the lead thanks to an early Barinaga goal. Pruden's brace increased their lead. In the final stretch, Valencia pulled one back from the penalty spot.

To reach the final at Montjuïc, the madridistas beat Racing de Ferrol, Ceuta, Alcoyano and Real Oviedo in the play-offs, which were played over two legs. That Madrid squad was coached by Jacinto Quincoces.
