Castilla earn a point in Mérida
MATCH REPORT.Mireia Jiménez

Real Madrid Castilla earned a point against Mérida at the Estadio Romano José Fouto. There were no goals in a game in which Raúl's side had the clearest chances and in which both goalkeepers played a key role.
The chances were shared between both teams in the first half. The clearest chances before the break came from set pieces. Firstly, David Jiménez looked for the top corner with a free-kick, which required Juanpa to be at full stretch to keep the ball out with a fine save. Mérida responded soon after with another free kick, but Fran smothered the home side's effort.
Our team could have gone ahead on several occasions after the restart. Mérida's goalkeeper again saved his team by clearing a powerful long-range shot from Edgar. Shortly after, Loren's header went wide. Minutes later, Fran González made another fine save from Doncel's point-blank effort.
Víctor and Loren both came close to scoring
The first goal could have come from Víctor Muñoz, but Juanpa was decisive in the one-on-one. Later, Loren was unable to convert at the far post, crashing into the woodwork. In the 73rd minute, Fran saved Álvaro's powerful low shot with a superb hand down low. In the end, neither team managed to break the deadlock. Next week, the reserve team will face Fuenlabrada in the last game of the season at the Alfredo Di Stéfano.
