Matchday 3 of the Women's Champions League group stage sees Real Madrid Women pit their wits against PSG and David Aznar and Claudia Zornoza addressed the media to preview Tuesday’s Parc des Princes clash (9pm CET). The boss had the following to say: “As always when we're involved in this competition, we look forward to it with great excitement. We really motivated and are improving with every game. We come here to what’s an incredible setting to take on one of Europe's top teams. We’re just focusing on winning and it's a really special game to go out and enjoy and we come here with the belief that we’re going to compete”.
“As we've already shown in this competition, we're going to continue taking small steps forward. We have to play on the front foot and ensure that they don't do damage from set pieces. They've got more experience than us in this competition and have had more time to prepare for this game than we have, but we know where our strengths lie”.
Start to the campaign
“We haven't had an easy start to the season, but we're improving with every game. The vibes are getting better and better and we’ve welcomed back some key players. The team is putting in a great deal of effort to play every three days and the players have to be praised for that. We know just how important it is for the club to be in Europe and we're keen to develop, whilst also displaying the humility of a team that’s debuting in the competition”.
Zornoza: “We’ll have to produce a faultless performance to beat PSG”
“It's a dream come true for everyone. They're opponents that any player would want to come up against and are one of the top sides in Europe. We’re fully aware that we have to give 300% in these kinds of games, not make any mistakes and go all out for the win. You've got to look at all of the progress that we've made. We’ve come on massively and are capable of winning this sort of match”.
“We’ll have to produce a faultless performance to beat PSG. We’re really excited and are really looking forward to the match. This is our first campaign whilst PSG are a real force. We couldn't be any more motivated and the team is fully aware of the effort we'll have to put in”.
