Zidane's men contest the rearranged LaLiga Matchday 19 contest at the Di Stéfano (10pm CET).
There's no let-up in Real Madrid's demanding schedule and with virtually no time to savour Saturday's derby win, the team faces its latest challenge tonight as Zinedine Zidane's charges welcome Athletic Club to the Alfredo Di Stéfano (10pm CET) for the sides' Matchday 19 encounter. The four teams involved in the Spanish Super Cup have seen their LaLiga Matchday 19 fixtures brought forward (with Real Sociedad and Barcelona the other two teams involved).

However, before attentions turn to the cup competition, Real Madrid are fully focused on securing a league victory tonight against the Rojiblancos. Should the Whites prevail, they will move on to 26 points and join Atlético and La Real at the summit.

REAL MADRID HAVE KEPT CLEAN SHEETS IN EACH OF THE LAST THREE GAMES.

Real Madrid have discovered a defensive solidity in recent games and, as Zidane noted in his pre-match press conference, this is a quality that the team must continue to display: "The team's on a good run and we want to keep it up". Casemiro won't be involved and doesn't feature in the 20-man squad after having picked up a number of bookings.

Athletic lie level with four other teams in 12th spot on 14 points and come into this one after having claimed a point at Mestalla. Several of Asier Garitano's men have weighed in with goals, with five players having netted twice (Williams, Villalibre, Unai López, Muniain and Berenguer). The madridistas have the upper hand in the sides' previous meetings and are unbeaten in the last 10 encounters against Athletic.
