Real Madrid downed Coosur Betis on the road and remain top and unbeaten in the league.- Liga Endesa
- Matchday 8
- Tue, 27 Oct

The contest got off to a high-tempo start in the scoring stakes, before things cooled off as the minutes ticked by. Within the first three minutes, Real Madrid had posted 12 points, eight of which were scored by Carroll (7-12, min. 3) and was playing with great fluency and looked like they were going to race away. However, they failed to continue their strong start in offense. Easy shots were now not going in and several rushed shots on three-pointers saw Coosur Betis, paced by Feldeine and Kay, go toe-to-toe in this first stanza (17-19, min. 10).
Parity
The script of a low-scoring game intensified in the second quarter as both teams became more comfortable in defense, with Tavares (four points and eight rebounds) and Ndoye (five and seven) starring for their respective sides. The lack of shooting accuracy meant that there were no scoring runs to break the parity on the scoreboard during a second 10 minutes that the hosts won14-12 (31-31, min. 20).
Real Madrid has won all four of its road trips.
Real Madrid sprung into life in offense following the interval, whilst also keeping up the good defensive work. The team, led by Campazzo, gradually gained small advantages that they really had to work for. The Argentine point guard got his team moving up through the gears as he linked up with Carroll and Tavares, who starred in offense. The Cape Verde-born center was now up to double-double on points and rebounds (10+10). With the scores at 43-44 in the 27th minute, a surge from Madrid offered an initial run of 4-13 as the guests recorded the biggest lead of the night at the close of the third quarter (47-57, min. 29).
Save the best till last
The Whites were now delivering in offense and continued to build on the run to make it 10-33 after a great start to the final stanza in which the team was paced by the inspired Llull. The point/shooting guard tipped the game in Madrid's favour with three straight treys (four in this quarter) which, along with another from Laprovittola, took the points margin over the 20-point mark and put the game to bed at 53-77 with three minutes remaining. Coosur Betis's resistance dropped following a stunning quarter from Real Madrid at both ends that brought a run of 32-53 to make the final score 65-84. Real Madrid secured a first win of the week and in 48 hours' time, the team hosts Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague (Thursday, 9pm CET).
