Real Madrid's social media, leading the way in interactions in the 2019/20 season

On July 16th, when the side won the 34th league title, Real Madrid generated more than 16 million interactions on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and an average of 74,192 per publication.
On 16 July, Real Madrid beat Villarreal 2-1 to claim their 34th league title. After the win, tens of millions of fans interacted with the club's social media channels. On the day of the match, Real Madrid shared 216 posts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, generating more than 16 million interactions and an average per post of 74,192, a key metric that evaluates the quality of interaction with fans. The following day, the team exceeded this milestone, publishing 180 pieces of content that generated over 16.6 million interactions, increasing the average to over 92,000 interactions per publication, according to Blinkfire Analytics.
 
Real Madrid are the top performing team on social media among the five major European leagues: La Liga, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1. Over the 2019/20 season, they averaged 38,687 interactions per post. No other club achieved better results on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Among the ten with the highest average interaction per post were the champions of Serie A (Juventus), the Premier League (Liverpool) and Ligue 1 (Paris Saint-Germain).
 
Instagram has continued to be a valuable channel for Real Madrid to interact with its fans. Between 1 August 2019 and 21 July 2020, the club's account on this social network averaged 929,169 interactions per publication, helping it to top the overall ranking of the major leagues.
