On 5 July 1981, Lolo Sainz's team beat EC Sirio in the final (109-83).
Today marks 39 years since Real Madrid's Club World Cup win in Sao Paulo. On the 5th of July 1981, our team got the better of the home side, EC Sirio, 109-83, to round off a superb tournament in which the madridistas went unbeaten throughout.

Led by Lolo Sainz, Madrid showed their dominance from the tip-off and went into half-time with a comfortable advantage over the Brazilian team (54-36). Following the break they increased their lead until the end of the game, with superb performances by Delibasic (33 points), Brabender (28) and Rullán (23).
