Real Madrid's Casemiro and Militão won the Copa America with Brazil. The hosts won their ninth continental title after beating Peru in Maracana. The Whites' midfielder played the whole match and the defender came on in the 77th minute.

Three of the goals were scored in a vibrant first half. Brazil took the lead after 15 minutes thanks to Éverton. Then, in a crazy end to the first period, Guerrero converted a penalty to level things up, but the home side made it 2-1 in added time through Gabriel Jesus.

The second half turned out to be a different affair. Brazil, who in the whole competition had only conceded the goal scored by Guerrero in this final, were able to hold on to their lead, doing so with just 10 men after the sending off of Gabriel Jesus for a second yellow card in the 70th minute. Then, in the final minute, Richarlison scored a penalty to put the tie beyond Peru.
