The LaLiga leaders kept up the pace at the Reale Arena to pick up their sixth consecutive league win. Our team showed great solidity and solidarity in a game that was decided by Arda Güler's goal in the 29th minute after a beautiful team move, which involved Tchouameni with a precise long pass and Carvajal with a perfect assist. With this win, Real Madrid are now 14 points clear of Barcelona, who still have to play their matchday 33 fixture.

Ancelotti fielded a very different line-up from last time out and Madrid showed that they have excellent depth of squad and were able to withstand Real Sociedad's pressure until they made the most of the first chance they had. The home side tried their luck after fifteen minutes with a shot from Kubo, a little off-balance, to which Kepa responded with a great save, and a long-range effort from Turrientes in the 28th minute that went just inches over. In the following play came the 0-1. Tchouameni's long pass to Carvajal, who crossed from the right flank on the volley and Arda Güler finished inside the area with a precise left-footed shot that slipped through Remiro's legs.

Chances
Real Sociedad equalised with a goal from Kubo in the 32nd minute, but the goal was disallowed by Munuera Montero, who went to the monitor to watch the replay, for a previous foul by Barrenetxea on Tchouameni. It was indeed the Frenchman who had the last chance of the first half with a powerful shot from the edge of the area in the 39th minute. Remiro made a superb save to keep the ball out. After the break, Madrid continued to look very solid in defence, but had more fluidity in the movement of the ball.

17th clean sheet in LaLiga
As the minutes ticked by, Ancelotti's side were hardly troubled until the 80th minute, when Oyarzabal broke between the centre-backs and tried to surprise Kepa with a lob, but Rüdiger kept out the goal with his head. Real pressed in the final minutes in search of an equaliser, but they came up against a Real Madrid side who showed their craft to take three more points and even had the chance to extend their lead in stoppage time when Camavinga shot from just inside the box. Remiro prevented the leaders from making it 2-0, and they continue to make strides towards the title.
