The Whites host the Basque outfit in Zidane’s 100th LaLiga game in charge.“The players have real pride and want to finish the season strongly. I’m convinced we’ll put in a good performance against Éibar”, said Zidane in the press conference. The French coach is today celebrating his 100th LaLiga game in the Real Madrid dugout and will be looking to add to his impressive numbers in the competition having won 70 of those games, scoring 269 goals.
A 19-man madridista squad is all set to take on Éibar. Zidane will continue to share minutes around freely, having already confirmed Reguilón will take his place at left-back as a result of Marcelo’s suspension. The list also includes the team’s leading scorer, Karim Benzema, who has hit 7 goals and has 4 assists at the Bernabéu so far this term.
The opposition
Éibar arrive in Madrid with their LaLiga fate assured, sitting safely in eleventh place. The team led by Mendilibar have lost only one of their last five away games, picking up points in nine of the eleven encounters in the second round of ties. On Éibar’s four previous league visits to the Bernabéu, Madrid have won three and drawn one.
