The Whites go in search of victory in front of their fans as the French boss begins his second spell in charge.
Zinedine Zidane is about to embark on his second spell in the Real Madrid hotseat. There are 11 games remaining this LaLiga campaign, the first of which takes place this afternoon at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Whites' stadium will welcome back the French tactician, who guided the madridistas to the last three Champions League crowns, as well as securing a number of other trophies. Celta are the first opponents in this new reign in this Matchday 23 encounter (4:15pm CET).

The Whites will be aiming to pick up maximum points in front of the home faithful ahead of the first international break of the calendar year. In their quest to do so the hosts will be boosted by the fact that they lay claim to the division's most prolific defence, which has weighed in with no fewer than 11 goals this term. This afternoon's game also marks Zidane's 150th at the Real Madrid helm.

"The players are really raring to show their worth and I see the squad as being keen to have a good end to the season", declared Zidane in his pre-match press conference. The French coach has named a 19-man squad for the game. He will be without the injured Dani Carvajal, Vinicius Jr., Lucas Vázquez and Marcos Llorente and Casemiro, who misses out through suspension.

In need of points
Celta travel to the Bernabéu in need of points as they languish in the relegation zone, although the visitors do head into the matchday just a point away from safety. Iago Aspas, who misses the trip through injury, tops the goalscoring charts for the Galicians, who haven't tasted victory in any of their last five league outings (L4, D1). The visitors' coach, Fran Escribá, who took charge of his first game last time out against Betis, are also without the suspended Hugo Mallo.
