Lucas Vázquez: "We have to learn from our mistakes and look forward"

NEWS | 09/09/2017

"We kept plugging away until the end, but we weren't clinical enough", insisted Llorente.
Lucas Vázquez was the Real Madrid goalscorer in the clash with Levante at the Bernabéu and the academy graduate shared his thoughts on the result: “These last two draws are not exactly what we would have wanted but we must learn from our mistakes and look forward. We tired at the end and struggled to create enough chances and Levante stood firm very well at the back and made it difficult for us”.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is someone else who can play centre forward, but he’s already been suspended for four games, which is excessive. I don’t like to discuss the referees and I’ll leave it to the people on the outside to have their opinions”.
Llorente: “We had the chances to have won it”
“It was a bit of a strange game. Their goal put us up against it but then we kept plugging away until the end. They were very tight at the back, we had the chance to have won it but weren’t clinical enough and we’ve not won the game. The opposition made life very difficult for us. We'll have to take a look at our mistakes, train even harder - if that's possible -, and turn our attentions to our next game".

Theo: "We failed to convert out chances and are wounded by the draw".

Fitness-wise, the team is in very good shape and in terms of the mood in the camp, we can't wait for the Champions League to get up and running and to try and get the win in our next league fixture. Cristiano is really important to us, he's got goals in him and it would have been handy to have had him in the side here. However, those of us who played today gave our all".
Theo: "We've now go to focus on Wednesday night's Champions League game"
"I'm happy with my first game in the starting XI, but we're also wounded by today's draw. We'll be fighting to put three points on the board week in, week out and we've now go to focus on Wednesday night's Champions League game. We played our game, which saw us create some openings but we failed to convert them, and Levante managed to put the one chance they had away".
