NEWS | 21/07/2017

This year's tournament takes place in the United Arab Emirates, with the final to be staged on 16 December.
As the reigning European champions, Real Madrid will once again contest the Club World Cup in 2017. The Whites will be looking to successfully defend their title in an edition to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates. The madridistas will make their tournament bow in the semi-finals on Wednesday 13 December (6pm CEST, 9pm local time), with their opponents in this game, who are set to come from the qualifying stage, currently unknown. The tournament showpiece will be played on Saturday 16 December (6pm CEST, 9pm local time), whilst the third-place play-off will be contested on the same day at 3pm CEST (6pm local time). All three fixtures will be held at Abu Dhabi's Zayed Sports City Stadium.

This year's Club World Cup kicks off on 6 December in Al Ain and will feature the European, African, South American, Concacaf, Asian and Oceania champions, as well as a representative team from the host nation. The teams to have booked their place at the tournament so far are Real Madrid, Mexico's Pachuca (Concacaf) and Auckland City (Oceania). The champions of the United Arab Emirates, Al-Jazira, will also be involved unless a side from the same federation emerges victorious in the Asian Champions League, in which case they would be replaced by the runners-up from the Asian continent.
