Real Madrid overcame Roma in what was James Rodríguez's 50th victory as a madridista. The midfielder, who rounded off the scoring at the Bernabéu reaches this milestone in his second season at the club, had the following to say on the Whites' qualification for the quarter-finals: "It was a fair result, Italian sides tend to sit back. We've got to look to the next round, which is sure to be a good one. The eleventh European Cup is a possibility".

"We're all feeling good and we're showing it every four days, which is positive for the team. Zidane looks after us well and every time I take to the pitch I try to give my all. There are days when things don't go to plan, and then there are others, like today, when everything comes off. Day after day I'm always trying to improve as a player and on this time round I got a goal, which was great".

Supporters' demands
"They want to see good football, and when things don't work out, they're entitled to boo. I just try to play well and they know when I've had a good game or otherwise. I try to give my all. We've got to work day in, day out to ensure that things go well for us".

He has netted 23 goals
Since making his debut in the 2-0 European Super Cup triumph over Sevilla on 12 August 2014, James has made 68 appearances, scoring 23 goals in the process. The Colombian has been involved in victories across five competitions: La Liga (36), the Champions League (9), the Copa del Rey (3), the Club World Cup (1) and the European Super Cup (1). This season he has played his part in 22 games, recording 15 wins (11 in La Liga, 3 in the Champions League and 1 in the Copa del Rey) and scoring six goals along the way.
