DESCRIPCION

The Real Madrid Foundation’s socio-sporting school in Bhutan, which is run in conjunction with Tintefish, is located in Gangtey Village in the Phobjikha Valley and lies at over 3,000m over sea level in one of the most rural and remote areas in the country. The project seeks to contribute to the holistic development of the youngest monks at Gangtey Monastery, whilst promoting a healthy leisure option through the practice of football.

The participants in the programme consist of the monastery’s youngest students, who, in the majority, hail from families with few resources that are unable to meet the costs of schooling their children and opt to send them to monasteries, where they receive food, accommodation and education. The socio-sporting school’s project also covers their needs for play and recreation.

In addition to the sports sessions, which follow our methodology, the school participants will receive nutritional supplements and attend workshops on hygiene and healthy lifestyle habits, as well as participating in various educational and social activities.
