Real Madrid are set to play an exhibition game against Luka Doncic's Dallas Mavericks at the WiZink Center on 10 October (8:45pm). Five years on from his move to the NBA, having left an indelible mark on our club, the Slovenian ace returns home having made his name as a fully-fledged star in the best league in the world.
Madridista fans will get another chance to enjoy watching a club legend. Having arrived in Madrid at just 13, his rise was meteoric, going on to become the best player in Europe at only 19 years of age. Over the course of four seasons in the first team, Doncic, who was made an honorary member of Real Madrid in 2021, made 216 appearances and won 7 trophies. Besides spearheading the charge to La Décima and being named EuroLeague and Final Four MVP (the youngest ever to do so), he won 1 Intercontinental Cup, 3 League titles and 2 Copas del Rey.
Third pick in the 2018 Draft, Doncic then signed for the Dallas Mavericks, where he continues to display his immense talent. He was named Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has been in the NBA's Best Five and All Star team in all of the last four seasons. What's more, in 2017 he led Slovenia to a European gold medal.
