Ceballos and Lucas Vázquez spoke to the media after Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Almería at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Andalusian midfielder explained: "Offensively we were very good. It was difficult to play with a few touches, but we imposed our pace on the game. I feel very good and I'm looking forward to bringing energy to the team. The level of confidence both from my team-mates and the coach is very high and I think that'll help me to give my best."
Partnership with Vini Jr.
"I understand him very well. We are very close and just by looking at each other I know when he's going to go into space or when he wants it to feet. That's fundamental."
More playing time
"It's a pity about Modrić's injury but there is one more place in midfield and hopefully I can play in the next few games, which would be great for me."
Position
"I feel more comfortable on the left because I have a much wider periphery of the pitch. Playing on the right is a bit more complicated, but that's what I have to do now. I hope to achieve some continuity. It's up to the coach to decide, but my objective is to get more playing time and that when he needs me he knows that he has a guarantee in this position. I'm very happy with the confidence he's placed in me."
Lucas Vázquez: "The team played with a lot of intensity and confidence"
“It was a very good game, both in attack and defence. The team played with a lot of intensity and confidence. We played very attractive football, making a lot of chances and we're very pleased with that.”
Performances by Benzema and Rodrygo
“It's no surprise. We know what they can do and we see them every day training and they're two world-class footballers. Benzema is a Ballon d'Or winner and Rodrygo is developing amazingly and we're delighted with his form.”
Conceding on the stroke of halftime
“3-0 would have been a good score at half-time and when they pulled a goal back it’s frustrating for us because we all want to keep a clean sheet.”
