Real Madrid Castilla were victorious against Celta B in a clash of the two academy sides at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. The madridistas opened the scoring with a superb goal from Arribas in the first half. Dotor and Arribas, on this occasion from the penalty spot, secured the points in the second half. Raúl's men have now enjoyed four consecutive victories and become league leaders ahead of the Córdoba-Alcorcón clash later in the day.
After a shaky first few minutes with Rafa Marín denying the opposition a goal, Arribas went close for Madrid with a dangerous cross from a set-piece that forced the goalkeeper into a smart save (12 mins). Eight minutes later, the forward tried his luck again with a shot from the edge of the area that Ruly again turned wide. Just before the half hour mark, Arribas' persistence bore fruit. He picked up the ball in midfield, drove forward to the edge of the D and fired a powerful strike into the back of the net to make it 1-0 on the stroke of halftime.
Castilla secure the three points
The Madrid academy side continued to press for a second goal after the restart. Marvel had a header cleared off the line by the visitors' defence, and Dotor tested Ruly from outside the area with a fierce drive that narrowly missed the target. Celta B countered in the 67th minute when Medrano crossed into the area, but Rafa Marín turned it behind for a corner. Eight minutes later, Dotor and Aranda linked up with a nice one-two and the midfielder calmly finished past Ruly to double the hosts’ lead. Castilla soon made it 3-0 when Arribas converted from the penalty spot after Noel had been fouled inside the box.
