Real Madrid C.F. and Real Madrid Foundation president, Florentino Pérez, chaired the meeting of the Foundation's Board of Trustees in the Boardroom at Real Madrid City. The Foundation's governing body has now approved the accounts for the 2021-2022 season, which saw more than 75,000 people and their families supported in over 930 schools, projects and education, integration and development programmes in some 90 countries.
During the 2021-22 season, 464 socio-sports projects were run in 71 countries, 144 of which were in Spain. These projects were attended by more than 50,000 minors and their families, almost 11,000 of whom were in Spain. Simultaneously, 474 clinics, campuses and educational sport programmes, such as the Football Program, were organised in 34 countries, in which more than 25,000 minors, boys, girls and young people from the five continents were involved.
The Foundation's multi-channel educational content platform Sport & Values Academytv reached 25,000 registered users and the training area conducted 1,104 webinars, workshops, courses and seminars on education in values through sport. These took place online and in person, with 4,364 participants from all over the world.
All for Ukraine
The season was notably affected by the "All for Ukraine" campaign. Through the Foundation, Real Madrid donated more than one million euros to mitigate the effects of the invasion. This contribution represented 1.2% of the total contribution of Cruz Roja, 25% of the contribution of CESAL, 30% of the contribution of Misiones Salesianas and 88% of the contribution of Epicenter for children, the Foundation's on-the-ground partners, in this humanitarian emergency. The funds were destined both for food and medicines and for blankets, beds and other basic requirements.
The 2022-23 season gets underway with the 25th anniversary of the Foundation's creation, which has benefited more than 1,230,000 children and their families during this time. More than 1,500,000 people, comprising direct beneficiaries, people trained in the organisation's unique methodology and families assisted, whose lives have improved as a result of the Foundation's work on five continents. The Foundation applies sport as a vehicle for education, cooperation for development and social inclusion.
The Board of Trustees of the Real Madrid Foundation has approved an Action Plan for the 2022-23 season. This guarantees the sustainability of projects inside and outside Spain, and includes the hosting of events to celebrate the Foundation's 25th anniversary. The renewal of the EFQM quality stamp, the creation of the Equality Plan and the use of digital conversion to boost solidarity among madridistas, as part of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, have also been included in the plan.
