PSG v Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League

Real Madrid will take on PSG in the last 16 of the Champions League after the second draw was made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. The first leg will be played in Paris on 15 February, with the return leg to take place at the Santiago Bernabéu on 9 March. Both games will kick off at 9pm CET.

The French side reached the last 16 after finishing as runners-up in Group A, behind Manchester City. The Parisians, who reached the semi-finals of the competition last term, recorded three wins (all at home), two draws and suffered one defeat to collect 11 points in the group stage. Messi (five goals) and Mbappé (four) top the team's scoring charts in the Champions League.

In the initial draw, which took place at 12:00 noon (CET), Real Madrid were paired with Benfica. However, UEFA subsequently annonced that, "Following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other, a material error occurred in the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. As a result of this, the draw has been declared void and will be entirely redone".
