Asensio: “We're very solid and working well as a team"

Real Madrid came out on top in the derby at the Santiago Bernabéu. After the game, Asensio, who scored the second goal, was delighted: "It was a very important game, getting the three points and keeping this good run going, and in front of our fans. It's a derby and it's a very special experience. It's also really important for the fans. We knew it was going to be difficult, but we put in a strong performance".
 
"We're very solid at the moment, we're full of confidence and we're all working very well as a team, you can see that out on the pitch. That's important if we want to win the LaLiga title. We went ahead today and then took advantage of the spaces on the counter attack, like for my goal. The good thing is that we have a lot of options as a team and we know how to make the most of them".
 
Vinicius Jr.
"He's playing very well, both scoring goals and creating assists. We're really happy for how he's developing. I'm very happy for him because he's a great kid".
 
Personal form
"I'm feeling very good. I always try to cause problems for the opposition, to help the team and now the goals are coming and I'm proving to be decisive. Hopefully I'll carry on like this".
 
LaLiga
"There are still a lot of games to play, we're in a good position but we have to continue approaching the games as we are doing. We must get too far ahead of ourselves but we have to keep winning, that's the most important thing".

Courtois: "We did a great job".
"It was a good game. We scored a great goal, controlled the game and responded well. In the build-up for the second goal we played out from the back and then played a direct ball forward and scored. We study our opponents thoroughly and we do a great job with the coaching staff. It's about being physically fit and doing what the coach asks us to do".

"We’ve been defending really well and that’s the fourth consecutive clean-sheet. We did a great job and have to keep it going. Now we have more time to prepare for the next game against Cádiz, who are fighting it out down the bottom but will be tough opposition”.

Vinicius Jr.
"When he started here he was 18 years old and we knew he was a top player. Sometimes he misplaced a pass, but he has gradually developed. Naturally, he has improved and gained that maturity by playing. With each game his experience and ability to make good decisions improves".
 
Kroos and Modric
“They both played really well. One of the most impressive things was the way we kept playing difficult passes in between the lines and we had the courage to do it. They worked their socks off and they’re doing great”.

The league
"We have to respect the opposition who are in second and third place at the moment. Sevilla and Betis are playing well and are just a few points behind. Increasing our lead over Atlético and Barcelona is always nice but the league isn’t over, if we think that way we’ll start losing games and that's not good".
