The centre takes over from his teammate Alocén and is the second Real Madrid player to win it after Doncic.
Usman Garuba has been named the best young player of the 2020/21 League season following a vote involving the fans, players, coaches of the clubs in the competition as well as the media. The academy player follows his current teammate Alocén, who won it in the past two seasons, and becomes the second Real Madrid player to win the award after Doncic won it twice in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

At 19 years of age, Garuba has already played an important role for Laso's side, current leaders of the competition with a remarkable 31 wins from 32 games. The centre from Madrid, who is averaging 5.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 8 PIR in 17 minutes this season, has already played 100 games in a Real Madrid jersey and a fortnight ago put in his best performance in the ACB against Joventut with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 24 PIR.
