The Whites have registered 13 shutouts in the league and continue to boast the division's meanest defence.
One of the key factors behind the LaLiga leaders' season so far has been the team's defensive solidity. Real Madrid have registered clean sheets in 17 of their competitive outings this season: 13 in LaLiga, two in the Champions League and one apiece in the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. This record includes the two Clásicos and the three derby encounters.

Zinedine Zidane's men have the meanest backline in LaLiga, having conceded 17 times in 26 matchdays. This represents a joint all-time record for Real Madrid at this stage of the campaign, along with the 1964/65, 1972/73, 1975/76 and 1987/88 seasons. The LaLiga opponents who failed to breach the Madrid rearguard were Sevilla (0-1), Osasuna (2-0), Atlético (0-0 and 1-0), Leganés (5-0), Betis (0-0), Éibar (0-4), Espanyol (2-0), Barcelona (0-0 and 2-0), Athletic (0-0), Getafe (0-3) and Valladolid (0-1).

This tally of clean sheets is completed with the two Champions League group-stage meetings against Galatasaray (0-1 and 6-0);  the Spanish Super Cup final against Atlético, in which the Whites prevailed on penalties after a 0-0 stalemate; and the Copa del Rey triumph over Zaragoza (0-4).
