Martín Carpena (Málaga)
Real Madrid were crowned champions of the Copa del Rey 2020 after beating Unicaja Malaga in the final played at the Martin Carpena, the same setting where they won six years ago. It is the sixth cup title in nine years and number 28 in the history of the club to extend a record that in the last nine seasons, with Laso on the bench, has won 19 titles. Today's title was won at the host's home court and with another very solid performance from the defense and an overwhelming dominance of the game. Another great show from Campazzo (13 points, 13 assists and 29 PIR), who won the MVP for the tournament, the third consecutive after the final of the ACB League and the Super Cup. And great game from Carroll (20 points). Llull played 800 games in the White jersey and the madridistas add this trophy to the one of the Supercup in this season.
A great atmosphere for the final and the tension you would expect for such a game. A great start with both teams making more mistakes than the previous days. Even so, Real Madrid took the lead early thanks to their good work in defense and effectiveness on the trey (5/8). With it at 8-10 in the 4th minute and Reyes on the court for Tavares, in a first half led by Campazzo (7 points and 4 assists), Randolph (5) and the best of Carroll (10). Between the three, 22 of the 26 points in the first quarter came, seeing them up doubling the score of their opponent with a run of 5-16 (13-26, min. 10).
Treys and defense
Unicaja could not overcome the aggressive defense of Laso's side, who continued to punish with two straight three-pointers from Rudy at the beginning of the second quarter. Another from Thompkins for Real Madrid saw a maximum of +21 points (14-35, minute 14). The host reacted quickly and were encouraged by their supporters, and Brizuela pushed on (10 points) with a 12-0 that brought them to under the 10-point mark (26-35, min. 18). The defense, allowing only 28 points in the first half, set things up and it was only a matter of time before they got on top. In the last minute and a half before the break treys from Taylor and Campazzo (10) and a basket from Llull set Malaga back (28-43, min. 20).

Second title of the season for Real Madrid after the Super Cup.

Real Madrid cooled down the final with their start in the third quarter. Maximum concentration in both baskets led them to continue extending the run, now with the contribution of Tavares and the duo Carroll-Campazzo. The feeling of control was at its most at this point with advantages of more than 20 points during this quarter, as much as 28 at 40-68 in the 30' after the fourth trey by the North American shooting guard. His exhibition was recognized by the Martin Carpena with an ovation when he was substituted. The Whites had definitely broken the match before entering the final stretch.

A perfect Cup
The spectacular performance this afternoon gave continuity to the one of quarter and semifinals and Real Madrid brought to an end a Copa del Rey that will be remembered thanks to the authority with which they won the title. Campazzo, at the end MVP, added assists with ease and in the last quarter he was already in the double-double (he finished with 13 points, 13 assists and 29 PIR). He was accompanied by 5 other players with double digits in PIR (Carroll, Randolph, Deck, Tavares and Thompkins). There was no more history to be made by Real Madrid and the Martin Carpena bowed down to Laso and his players (68-95, min. 40). Real Madrid dominated the season and have won the two titles that have been contested: Supercup and Copa del Rey.
