"I'm lucky, I hope that I've got many years left in me to give my all for this club", he declared.
Casemiro made his 50th Champions League appearance for Real Madrid in the meeting against Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium. The Brazilian reaches the landmark figure in this, his sixth season as a member of the first-team squad, with whom he has lifted the trophy on four occasions, played his part in 34 wins and scored five times.

The Brazilian expressed his delight at the end of the game: "It's an important milestone, especially when you do it in these colours because the demands here couldn't be any higher. I'm lucky, I hope that I've got many years left in me to give my all for this club. I look back on all of these matches, playing in these colours and representing this special crest, regardless of the match".

"All of the Champions League games are special because it's the toughest competition in the world, but we showed our authority and we're performing to a good standard. We continue to be mentally strong, that's been the key to keeping the good performances up. The players showed their desire out there. That's the way the coach works because, for him, every member of this squad is important and everyone will get game time to prove that, as was the case here tonight".

His best campaigns in terms of appearances were the 2017/18 (12) and 2015/16 seasons (11). In this year's competition, he has featured in all of the group-stage games. PSG are the opponents he has faced on the highest number of occasions, having squared off against them six times, followed by Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich on five apiece. The latter are the side against whom Casemiro has registered the most wins, having come out on top against Bayern four times.

From a goalscoring point of view, the Brazilian has found the net against Brugge, Juventus, Viktoria Plzen, Napoli and PSG. His standout strikes include his wonderful volley against Napoli at the Santiago Bernabéu and, of course, his goal in the Champions League final against Juventus.
