NEWS | 25/11/2019 | Alberto Navarro | PHOTOGRAPHER: Antonio Villalba"We're in a great moment of form and we're up against a very good team in PSG", explained the goalkeeper.
"I think my relationship with the Bernabéu is good. The only thing I can do is to give my all in each match and be in the heart of the madridistas. You win that on the pitch with performances and titles and not with words".
"They're things you can't control. After the match against Celta everyone was talking about my save, which was very good. Then there were other games...but in LaLiga we conceded very few goals. As a goalkeeper you can't lose confidence in yourself. You have to train hard because there is Areola and Altube. I always try to do it and I only think about myself and helping the team and not what they say. I listen to the coach because he's the one who sees me every day and that's what's important".
"I wouldn't say revenge. That game helped us to learn. It wasn't a good game for us but I think we've improved a lot lately and it will be a game to see how we're doing. We're up against a great team and we're in a great moment of form. It's more like wanting to win against a big team that also aspires to win the Champions League. We can show that we're on top and we want to carry on like this".
Preparing for the match
"I work in the same way in every match and I don't think differently if it’s against Cavani, Neymar or Mbappé or I’m playing against Celta or Leganés. All forwards have a lot of quality when it comes to scoring goals".
"It's true that the PSG players are at a very high level and are among the best in the world, but you always have to be prepared for everything".
"We're here to win games and what happened was with his national team. What we want from him is for him to give everything in training and games and help us win every time. I can't ask for more from him. Then the Bernabéu can have their opinion, but I'm nobody to have an opinion on that.
"It's logical that you love your country and that feeling can come before the place where you're playing. That's not a problem. It has been blown up a bit. I see Bale every day and I know him and he's 100% involved. He's a professional, he takes care of himself and on Saturday we saw how he got into the game. He was very involved, the third goal comes from a cross of his and he almost scored a goal. If he wasn't involved, he wouldn't play like that. I'm sure he's 100 per-cent here".
"When he got whistled, we know what can happen. As a team I was focused on the match. You can hear it but we are one hundred percent in the match. We don't think about it. They can have their opinion and we respect it, but they always come to support us. It's a critical audience that wants us to be on top all the time".
"Players who are the best in the world are always ok. Neymar is Neymar, he's got his quality and he's going to give us a tough game. But we are up against a great PSG side and we have to try to stop them as a team, the whole team and not just think about one player or another".
