"It's going to be a tough game against a fighting opponent who has good players", said Carroll.
Pablo Laso and Jaycee Carroll spoke to the media ahead of the next Euroleague meeting, in which Real Madrid visits Zalgiris (Thursday, 7pm CEST). The Whites coach said: “Zalgiris has a very defined identity and is a very strong team, which changes players every year, but who understand the philosophy of their coach. In their matches against Milan and Baskonia they could have won in the last quarter. We see this game as a complicated away match”.
“The Kaunas game is difficult because there is a big atmosphere at their court and they realy get behind the team. They are a side that keeps its hallmarks, but with new players that will grow little by little. In principle, we travel with 14 players without Thompkins or Mejri, because Mejri had a sprained ankle. This week it’s impossible for him to play, but we'll see for the next one".
Two consecutive away trips
“Every week has its own difficulty, regardless of whether we play at home or away. It's true that we played two games in less than 48 hours and the team has to get used to it”.

Laso: "It's a complicated away match"

“We have improved defensively. To defend well, you have to attack well. The Euroleague is very different from the league. The two games we have played in Euroleague have been very close and forced us to be very attentive”.
Carroll: "We go in to two very complicated away trips"
“Everyone is going to have to play their part on the court. It will be a difficult game against a fighting team and on a very difficult court. In the last two games they had a chance of winning. Brandon Davies has left, who gave them a lot last year, but they also have good experienced players”.
Two games in 48 hours
“We will be away for a few days. Kaunas and Santiago de Compostela are two complicated away trips”.
