NEWS | 15/10/2019The projects, which are developed with Epicentr for Children, will serve almost 400 children at risk of exclusion in Kyiv and Khmelnitskiy.
The Real Madrid Foundation socio-sports school in Irpin (135 students) will be launched in collaboration with three primary and secondary schools: № 2, № 3 and № 17; and in Khmelnitskiy (220 students) with the Khmelnitsky Academy of Humanities and Teaching and primary and secondary schools in the towns of Skarzhyntsi and Ruzhychanka. The sports infrastructure has been renovated and built by the project partner: the company “Epicentr K”.
Butragueño: "We look to improve the present and future of the children of Ukraine"
Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations of the club, said: “The Real Madrid Foundation and Epicentr for Children, form a team with Epicentr K in which there are many players and each plays its role to achieve a common goal: to improve the present and the future of the children of Ukraine. This is the victory we are looking for now in Ukraine”.
For his part, Taras Garega, vice president of Epicentr for Children, said: “A year ago we opened the first Real Madrid Foundation school in Ternopil, a pilot project that has shown that we are on the right track. Children study, play, train and have socialized with children their age from other countries. They have received the motivation for self-improvement and have learned values such as respect, which is one of the most important objectives of our project”.
Complementary training activities
In addition to football and basketball training, students will have complementary training activities for school reinforcement, foreign languages, cultural visits, etc. In turn, they will receive a nutritional contribution, sports equipment and uniforms and all the necessary materials for the development of the activity.
Highly qualified professionals
They will also have at their disposal a team of highly qualified professionals: coordinators, social workers, coaches, who have received a course under the methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation called 'For a Real Education: Values and Sport', teachers, educators, psychologists and volunteers.
