NEWS | 17/09/2019Raúl spent time with the children following Castilla's game against Langreo.
The first stop on the group's visit was the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium, where the children took in Castilla's game and were lucky enough to be welcomed to the stadium by Raúl, who greeted them and posed for photos. The group also visited Real Madrid City, where they contested a match against pupils from Madrid's socio-sporting schools that took part in this summer's Copa Alma in Hungary and with whom they were able to share the values that they learn through sport during their training sessions. The experience was rounded off with training sessions, the Tour Bernabéu and cultural visits in Madrid and Toledo.
The Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sporting school in Jounieh caters for nearly 100 children aged nine and 12. The participants hail from vulnerable families and those lacking in resources. The aim of the project is to provide them with access to schooling and enhance their motivation and promote values-based education through sport. Amongst the additional activities on offer are the socio-healthy initiatives. During the course of the past season, the most vulnerable pupils received psychological help through one-to-one and group sessions. The pupils are also included in the annual vacation programme and receive a medical check-up each season.
