Rodrygo: “I'm here to score goals and bring real joy to Real Madrid”

Rodrygo Goes spoke to Realmadrid TV in his first interview as a madridista forward, sharing his excitement at joining the biggest club in the world: “It is a dream come true, I have wanted this since I was a kid, this is the happiest day of my life. I'm here to score goals and bring real joy to Real Madrid”.

1. Rodrygo Goes, the 18 year old forward, is the present and future of Real Madrid. Rodrygo, welcome home, welcome to Real Madrid. What does being presented as a Real Madrid player mean to you? Describe to us ho happy you are.

   Thank you. It is a dream come true, I have wanted this since I was a kid, this is the happiest day of my life. I'm here to score goals and bring real joy to Real Madrid.

2. You were a madridista from a young age. What are you hoping to win here at Real Madrid?

   I'm dreaming of winning all possible titles, especially the Champions League.

3. You have a friend and fellow Brazil teammate in Vinicius Jr. On the bench is madridista legend Zidane. What did Vinicius Jr. tell you about Real Madrid and working with Zidane?

   Vinicius Jr. told me great things about Madrid. When people talk about Madrid they talk about the best things possible. With Zidane, I'm going to get to know him now, and training under him is a dream.

4. You can play anywhere on the front line, but where do you prefer to play?

   I like playing on the wings, both the left and right.

5. Tell us about how important your family have been on your journey here, now that you're here in front of 13 European Cups. What did they instil in you each day?

   Family is the most important thing I have and they support me wherever I go. Having them here with me makes me feel good, it's one of the best things in life. I am so happy to be here today.

6. All madridista fans as listening to you now, what message would you like to send them now that you are a Real Madrid player.

   I'd like to say hello to all the madridistas out there, I'm sending them all my very best. I am going to score lots of goals and bring you Real Madrid fans moments of joy.
