The children had the incredible opportunity of meeting the madridista star, while he got to see first-hand just how the centre works, before signing autographs and of course, taking part in a training session with the kids, led by the Foundation's expert coaches.
Smiling as always
After playing a fun game with the kids, the madridista mainstay spoke to us about how he felt: “This has been a remarkable day. I was young once too, I loved playing football and having fun, so for me to spend some time with these children is a way for me to relive that whilst making sure they have a good time too. They deserve it. All children deserve to enjoy such moments and I hope their lives are full of happiness from here on in”.
“These are the values I have learned at Real Madrid and so I want to encourage the kids to take on these same values, with a smile on my face every day. I am going to try to visit more often and get to know these kids. Today really has been remarkable”.
“I feel fine. I'm almost back at 100%, plugging away so i can get back to normal, I’ve been training well. Today was the second day that I trained with the ball, so I think I'm doing well. To be honest, the international break came at a good time because it gives me the opportunity to focus on being ready to play in the next game”.
This is one of the many charity projects that the Real Madrid Foundation carries out, along with Madrid's Dirección General del Menor, who carry out programmes in more than twenty children's home in Madrid, focussing as always, on the care and protection of young people.
