“The win was a fair result, we fought hard and were made to suffer”, said James.
Casillas was between the sticks for Madrid against Córdoba and assessed the encounter at full time: “Perhaps it wasn't our best performance of the season but we took all three points. The pitch was very tough to play on, it was very dry. We like to pass the ball around, with lots of movement; we were made to work today but we got the win”.

“No one was at their best in this game and we got through this more with character than with good play. These are the types of games that win league titles and we had no choice but to win. The penalty came right after kick off and was a setback. The supporters pushed their team on from the beginning until the end. Córdoba created chances and could have made it 2-1”.

Casillas: “We got through the game with character”.

“We knew they would be a tough team to play against and they were very good on the counter-attack. The game looked destined to finish all square after we went down to ten men, but we managed to get that penalty and now leave here happy with three points in the bag. But we're also annoyed because that is not the way we usually play”.

“He is either the best or among the world's top three centre backs and, given everything he has been through over such a long time, whatever he does will always be up for debate. He knows how to deal with the critics and is a very important player for us in that respect”.

James: “Winning like that is also a glorious feeling”
“They played intensely and were solid at the back. Winning like that is also a glorious feeling. We fought and were made to suffer a lot and I think it was a fair result”.

“Other teams always give it their all against us. We have to be well aware that we are Real Madrid and we always have to go out to win. It can sometimes be difficult to win or get into a game when a team shuts up shop at the back”.
