Casillas won his first Club World Cup on his 700th appearance with Real Madrid

Iker Casillas continues to make history. He reached his 700 appearance in the victory against San Lorenzo, a match that handed Madrid their first Club World Cup title. As such, the Madrid captain becomes the third footballer in the club's 112 year history to reach this milestone. Raúl and Sanchís achieved the feat previously.

He has played in seven competitions in order to reach such a spectacular figure. He has played in 491 La Liga matches. The other matches are divided between the Champions League (146) , the Copa del Rey (40) , the Spanish Super Cup (13) , the Club World Cup (5) , the European Super Cup (3) and the Intercontinental Cup (2).

He played in 55 games over the 2002/03 season
2002/2003 was the season in which Casillas made the most appearances, a total of 55. He aslo reached the half-century mark during 2010/11 (54), 2011/2012 (53) and 2003/04 (50). He almost reached 50 games during 2005/06 (48), 1999/00, 2000/01, 2004/05 and 2008/09 (47) and 2007/08 and 2009/10 (46). Behind those seasons are 2006/07 (45), 2001/02 (40), 2012/13 (29), 2013/14 (24) and the current season (22).

Since his debut at the San Mamés on 12 September 1999, the Whites captain has notched up 448 wins (64%) ,122 draws and 130 defeats. On the seven hundred games he has played in, he started in 696, he has only come on as a substitute in four games.
