Real Madrid have to play seven crunch games in the fight for what would be the club’s 35th LaLiga title and this evening they face the first of these at the Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium. They take on a strong Sevilla side who are hot on the tails of Madrid, along with Barcelona. The Whites may have a 12-point lead, but they will be vying to pick up another crucial three points to further extend the gap at the top of the table.

This will be the fifth game for Carlo Ancelotti’s men so far in April, which has proven to be a demanding but successful month for the madridistas, who have emerged victorious from both their LaLiga fixtures Celta and Getafe and qualified for the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday after eliminating Chelsea in extra-time.
“We're ready for what'll be a tough game”, said Ancelotti in the press conference ahead of the game against Sevilla. The Italian will be without the suspended Casemiro for the clash, but Eder Militão returns to the squad to line up alongside the pichichi Karim Benzema. The Frenchman is in a rich vein of form, having found the net in eight of his last nine games, scoring 14 times in the process.

The opposition
Sevilla go into the game against the league leaders level on points with Barcelona, with the aim of reducing the 12-point advantage held by Madrid. The Andalusians boast an excellent record at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, as they are the only side in LaLiga who are yet to taste defeat at home 11 wins and 4 draws. They have also picked up the joint most points on home soil 37, along with Real Madrid. Rafa Mir is the club’s top goal scorer 12 goals. Another episode of the battle for the LaLiga title is in store this evening in Seville.
