On 24 March 1968, Real Madrid were crowned champions after an away victory over Picadero.

Today marks the 55th anniversary of Real Madrid's tenth basketball league title. On 24 March 1968, the Whites mathematically clinched the title with two games to spare after a 48-53 away victory over Picadero. Pedro Ferrándiz's charges secured Madrid's tenth league title in the first 12 editions of the competition and it was a historic season as they also lifted the European Cup for the fourth time.

In that league competition comprising 11 teams, Real Madrid came out on top with 18 wins in 20 games, two victories ahead of Estudiantes and Joventut. Clifford Luyk was the top scorer in that year's edition with 486 points, averaging 24.3 per game.
