Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation, welcomed Gabriel Leal, general manager of Signus, to the auditorium at Real Madrid Sports City, to renew the collaboration agreement between the two organisations.
The signing ceremony was attended by Real Madrid ambassador, Felipe Reyes, who highlighted the importance of this collaboration: "Being able to count on allies who give continuity to the Foundation's projects is fundamental. Although it may seem easy, there are many children who, for various reasons, would not be able to play sport if the Foundation did not have schools for everyone.
For his part, the general director of Signus said: "It is very important that we convey the importance of extended producer responsibility systems to the participants of the school, because it can guarantee effective management. In our case it is tyres at the end of their useful life, which we transform into new materials."
Collaboration
The collaboration of the entity contributes to the sustainability of the socio-sports wheelchair basketball school of the Real Madrid Foundation in Getafe, which is developed an the CEIP Jorge Guillén Shool, and provides care for a dozen young people with physical and mental disabilities aged between 8 and 20 years old. Signus has shown great commitment to this programme by visiting the beneficiaries.
Four seasons ago, the collective system for the management of end-of-life tyres, Signus, joined other entities that, working in the field of the Circular Economy, also collaborate with the Real Madrid Foundation's projects for education in values through sport. An example of this is the football and basketball socio-sports schools, who consider that education in respect for the environment is the path to sustainability and is a win-win situation.
