Arbeloa unveils the new route for the Real Madrid Foundation Solidarity Race by Unicaja Banco in Madrid

NEWS STORY. 27/01/2023

Abbott joins as an official sponsor of the circuit, which kicks off on 12th February with the Madrid event.

Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid ambassador and also for its Foundation, presented the route through the streets of Madrid for the first race of the Real Madrid Foundation by Unicaja Banco Solidarity Running Circuit. This year, Abbott, Real Madrid's health nutrition sponsor and global partner of the Foundation, has joined the event.

The race will be held on 12th February, in the 5km, 10km and children's race formats, and registration can be done at this link. This collaboration extends Abbott's partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation, with which it shares a common goal: to help children around the world live healthier lives and take advantage of all the possibilities available to them. At the event, Arbeloa said: "There is no doubt that a healthy life involves doing exercise that is well directed by professionals and appropriate for each individual, but also maintaining healthy, complete and varied eating habits, such as the Mediterranean diet".

For their part, Unicaja Banco, Real Madrid's official bank and main sponsor of the Running Circuit, have organised a series of activities to encourage the participation of sportspeople and to add a registration system to support the social projects of the Real Madrid Foundation. It will set up a fan zone with activities for all ages and has organised a competition in which it will raffle official signed and personalised Real Madrid shirts.

The Work Done by the Real Madrid Foundation
The Real Madrid Foundation supports 65,000 beneficiaries in 80 countries every year through education in sporting values, teamwork, respect, health and nutrition. In collaboration with local partners, it identifies and brings together children from at-risk areas, usually in remote rural communities. The schools cover many different activities, ranging from healthy snacks and dental hygiene to after-school programmes related to health education and sports training.

Other Races
Soon, this circuit will also feature the Malaga towns of Torremolinos (26th March), which will be added as a new venue, and Alhaurín de la Torre ( 7th May). The aim is to promote the values of the Real Madrid Foundation and contribute to its social inclusion projects through sport.
