The team, with this squad called up, go into the match undefeated in Europe's top competition (five wins and one draw in the preliminary round). Madrid claimed a 2-0 away win over KFF Vllaznia and a 0-0 draw at the Di Stéfano stadium against PSG in the first two group games.

Chelsea are having a great first half of the season. They lead the Premier League and top Champions League Group A with two wins, nine goals scored and are yet to concede. Real Madrid go into the tie in second place, two points behind them, and have the chance to go top should they win.
