"I’m very happy because we’ve worked very well and that’s the most important thing in pre-season", he added.
Zinedine Zidane spoke in the press room at the NRG Stadium in Houston the day before the team's opening game in the International Champions Cup. The coach thanked everyone for their messages of support after the death of his brother: "I wanted to say thanks for the messages of support that I've had over the last few days for my brother. Many thanks, above all, to the people who have been around me, it was important". He then spoke about the game against Bayern, which will be played on Saturday night through to Sunday Morning (2am CEST, Realmadrid TV): "We have three friendly matches but what we want is to try to play well. After ten days of work we're looking forward to playing".
"We know that physically we're not at 100% yet. The matches allow us to get right in time for the season. I'm happy, we've worked very well and that's what we came for. The most important thing in pre-season is to work hard. I have to congratulate all the players because they have worked very well. We're looking forward to starting the matches because the players want to play and we're ready".
The new signings adapting
"I'm very happy, I'm not going to say surprised because it's not the word. It's not easy when you get to a new club. They are very hardworking people and I'm happy with what they are doing. They're very good and it's a bonus for us".
"He's a determining player. He scores goals and makes a difference. He's shown it throughout his career and now we have him. We will take advantage of his qualities. I'm very happy with him. Eden needed a club like Real Madrid to improve. This club has something special and we all know it. When I arrived at Real Madrid, I was 29 years old and I still had a lot left. I spent five years as a player and improved things. Eden's situation is the same. We know the type of player he is and that he can give us a lot".
"We have to respect things. What I can say is that with the club we know what we want, and we know that until the 31st we can make changes with departures and players coming in. The important thing is that the players who are here have worked very well from the start. What encourages me is how well those who are with us have worked".
"Him staying in not a problem. I can't say that the player is a problem. He has a contract, he is here and what I can say is that anything could happen. I have to respect all the players, he is with us and he is a Real Madrid player. We will see what will happen. His role has not changed compared to in June".

"Achraf is going to spend another year at Dortmund. He's a good player and we know that. It's good for him to continue another year there".
"You ask me another question and I will always answer the same. We know with the club what we want to do and we are working on what we want to do. What I’m looking forward to is tomorrow's match and working bit by bit. We have time for the rest and we'll see what will happen".
"He looks good to me, he's training well. He's a quality player. I'm sure he will be important for Real Madrid. He is taking on the workload well. He's young but it feels like he's been with us for a long time".
Honesty with the players
"It's difficult, but it's reality. I've talked to everyone because I like to be clear with them".
"What we want is for people to be proud of the players. Tomorrow we want to put in a good performance for all the fans who support us. Here in Houston there are lots of people who like football and who support us and we're happy".
"He's a Real Madrid player. He's on holidays and we'll see what's going to happen. I can’t tell you anything else".
