“It's a real honour for me to pick up this award, which is also recognition for the work we do at our club's academy”, stated the Real Madrid president.
The Dehesa de Navalcarbón football ground in Las Rozas (Madrid) has played host to the second annual Corazón Azul Awards, an event which was also an opportunity to present all the Las Rozas C. F teams. Florentino Pérez was presented with an accolade in recognition of his work with youth football and his achievements in the professional game during his time as Whites' president".

In his acceptance speech, the Real Madrid boss said: “It's a real honour for me to collect this Corazón Azul Award today. It's also recognition for Real Madrid's commitment to youth football, specifically the work that we do at our club's academy”.

“For Real Madrid, our academy is a sign of our identity and Real Madrid City, which has just celebrated its 13th anniversary, is the place where young people learn values like comradery and team spirit”.

We feel great satisfaction to see Real Madrid academy products playing around the world.

“It's a source of great satisfaction for us to see that there are currently 174 players from the Real Madrid academy playing in professional leagues around the world”.

Successes
“Recognition of our successes through something like this Corazón Azul Award is also an appreciation of the triumphs of football in Madrid. The four European Cups we've won over the last 5 seasons are a source of pride for the millions of madridistas spread across the globe, but they are also something Madrid and its football should be proud of, and that's something we all represent”.

An example
“Las Rozas Club de Fútbol has shown over the course of these last few years that it is committed to youth football and training. Today is yet more evidence that you're an example for all the families involved and your hard work every day makes it possible for hundreds of children to grow up surrounded by sporting values. They are values which will stay with them throughout their lives”.

“The 36 teams which form part of the big family at Las Rozas Club de Fútbol represent all that is great about sport, and, above all, the most important aspects of a practice as beautiful as football - comradery, team spirit, the sacrifices made by the players and their families, respect for everyone, including the opposition, as well as hard work, commitment and solidarity”.
