The madridista forward has won the award three times, more than any other player.
Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the trophy which recognises him as the World's Best Goalscorer in 2016 according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS). The madridista, who collected the award at Real Madrid City from the IFFHS vice-president, Robert Ley, headed a list that included goals for both his club and country in international competition.

Cristiano, who scored 24 goals (11 in international games with Real Madrid and 13 with Portugal), beat Messi (21), Cavani and Ahmad (16) to the prize. The Whites' forward has picked up the award on more occasions than any other player, having now won it in 2013, 2014 and 2016, eclipsing the two held by Messi.
