Ronaldo scored the 500th goal for Real Madrid in the Champions League

The Whites are the first to reach this milestone in the competition.
Real Madrid broke a new record in the Champions League by becoming the first team to score over 500 goals in the competition (they now have 503). Since the start of this format of the competition in 1992/93, the Whites have fired in the most goals ahead of Barcelona (459), Bayern Munich (415) and Manchester United (350).

The top goal scorer for Real Madrid is Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored 90 goals for the Whites. The Portuguese trickster is followed by Raúl (66) and Benzema (39). Zamorano has the honour of scoring the first Real Madrid goal in the Champions League, when he scored the opening goal against Grasshopper in September 1995.

Round figures
Five years after Zamorano's first goal in this competition, came goal number 100. It was the work of Savio in a 4-0 win over Sporting CP. In 2003, Ronaldo Nazario scored goal number 200; the 300th goal was scored by Benzema in 2010 and the 400th was scored by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014. The Portuguese talisman. who managed to sneak in the opener against Juventus in Cardiff, scored the 500 and continued to write his name in the history books.

Highest goal-scoring season
After the goals he scored in the final in Cardiff, the madridistas had now scored 36 goals this term. The club's record in the competition dates back to 2013/14 when they scored 41 in order to win la Décima.
