NEWS | 24/09/2016 | Alberto Navarro (Las Palmas)“We're on the right track and must continue on in the same vein”, declared the Whites' boss.
"The game was under control. We won't be throwing the towel in, we'll continue to work hard. I'm pleased with the side's display. From the first minute to the last we dictated the game and we had a great number of chances. I don't think we lacked any desire".
Las Palmas' second goal
"I'll have to take a close look at it, but I think it was more down to a lapse in concentration. I'll have to see the goal, but I' not going to complain about it. If we perform like that for 90 minutes we'll be up there, no doubt about it. At times football can be tough on you. We'll rest up well now and turn our attentions to the Champions League".
"We made a strong start to the game, pressed high up and did exactly as we'd planned. When you concede two goals there's something that's not right and we'll be looking at it. What I take away with me is the good football we played throughout. We failed to convert tour chances. Had we managed to put ourselves two up it becomes a completely different game. They got an equaliser at a time when our concentration went".
"We've got a game on Tuesday and I thought that it was the right time to bring him off. That's all there is to it. He always wants to play and be out there on the pitch, but I've also got to think about the player and he needed to rest and think about Tuesday".
"We had the chance to have won and we haven't done that. We're relaxed, are working hard and are focused on what we're doing. We have to realise that you can't always win, but we're on the right track and must continue on in the same vein".
"They're a very good footballing side. They're strong opposition and they kept believing that they could get an equaliser right until the end and they managed it. Their performances are reflected in the league standings. They're up there and are doing well".
