Mbappé, MVP of the match: “Every point is important to make it into the top 8”
“We know that when we play at the Bernabéu, the fans want us to score many goals,” said the scorer of the second goal.
Kylian Mbappé was named MVP of the match between Real Madrid and Leipzig, corresponding to matchday three of the Champions League. The forward, who scored the 3-0 goal and assisted Arda Güler for the second, stated: “We know that every point is important to make it into the top 8, and we have to win as many matches as possible. We've won three, five to go.”
“El Clásico is completely different. We were focused only on today's match. What happens on Sunday, we can think about now. Before, the team wasn't thinking about Sunday's game.”
Four consecutive wins
“We know that when we play here, the fans want us to score many goals and play offensively. We try to do so in every match. Sometimes it’s not possible, but we aim to bring joy to the madridistas.”
Team rebuild
“That’s a question for Mourinho. For me, nothing has changed. I just have to score goals, help the team, and ensure we win.”
Vini Jr.
“He’s doing well. It’s good that he’s upset because it means he wants to give a lot to the team and the fans. I think he just needs to stay calm and proud of who he is. A great player must always take pride in who they are and gain confidence because the quality is there.”
Self-criticism
“I can do more because I am one of the few players for whom more is always expected. It’s never enough for a player like me, and I always try to do more. We’re in a good moment, but we have to keep going, and I have to do more.”
