Real Madrid play their last game of the year at the Santiago Bernabéu against Villarreal on matchday 17 (9 pm CET). After the win against Union Berlin in the Champions League on Tuesday, Ancelotti's side will be looking to close the week with another win and regain the lead, whilst keeping an eye on what Girona do against Alavés tomorrow.
Madrid host Villarreal after achieving a full house of wins in the Champions League group stage for the third time in their history. Now they look to continue this dynamic with their thirteenth league win to bid farewell to the Bernabéu in 2023 in the best possible way.

"We're on great form, but we're playing against a well-organised and well-prepared team," explained Ancelotti at the press conference ahead of the match against Villarreal. The Italian will be banking on the competition's top scorer, Jude Bellingham, in tonight's game. The Englishman has scored 12 goals in 14 games. Rodrygo, who has scored in his last two games at the Bernabéu, as well as Joselu, who scored a brace against Union Berlin on Tuesday, will also be in the squad.

Real Madrid's opponents started the day in thirteenth with a record of four wins, four draws and eight defeats. Marcelino's men will try to get a good result at our stadium and get back to winning ways to climb up the table. Gerard Moreno is their top scorer with eight goals, followed by Sørloth (6).
