Hanga: "Game 2 will be another battle"

NEWS STORY. 14/06/2022

“We're 1-0 up but in our heads everything starts over again.”, explained the forward.

Adam Hanga spoke to the press on the eve of Game 2 of the league final against Barcelona, which is to be played on Wednesday at the Palau Blaugrana (9pm CET) and he previewed the match-up in the following terms: “We're 1-0 up but in our heads everything starts over again. We have another battle tomorrow. We know it’ll be another tough game and that we’ve still got a long way to go to lift the title.”

“Every quarter and every match are different and we have to get ready for the next one, which I'm sure will be tough. It's no mean feat to beat Barça twice, but this is basketball and we’ll be looking to display the same levels of intensity as we did in the first game. Accuracy is obviously an important part of our game, but we have to also keep on defending and running.”

High tempo
“We've got to keep it up, there’s no other choice, there isn't long to go, it's virtually a week and we've got to put in that one last push and everyone is capable of giving 100%. I'm not that concerned by Barça and I'm just focusing on my team and how we played, the mistakes we made and where we can improve.”

Randolph’s injury
“He’s just left for Madrid now. We had dinner together yesterday. It's a shame. I really don't know no what more could happen to us this year. We send him a big hug and hope that he gets better soon.”

Demanding format
“In a play-off like this it's really important to recover properly. Today we're going to tweak some things. They will push hard right from the off and play a physical game, but we just have to play our game. Barça  has been in situations like this in the past and has managed to turn things around. Our job isn't done just yet. We're happy to have got the win the other day, but we've got to keep going.”

Individual level
“I'm doing better. I've tried to make the most of the opportunity to play without playmakers. I'm happy to help the team. I posted 16 points in the first game and none in the second match. I tried to offer the team what it needs and if we win tomorrow and I don't score any points, it wouldn't matter to me.”
