Fede Valverde racked up his 100th LaLiga appearance for Real Madrid in the trip to Osasuna. The midfielder reaches this landmark in this, his fourth season with the first team, for whom he has played his part in 70 wins and netted five times in the competition, which he won in the 2019/20 season. The Uruguayan expressed his satisfaction at the final whistle: “I'm happy, it’s very special to achieve personal objectives with such a great team and the best club in the world. I enjoy every game, training session and momentum as if it were the last”.
“I want to thank the fans who travelled and who always support us because that's really important for us. We're one step closer to our objective. It was a tough game and we struggled a bit in the first half, particularly when they hit back so soon, but we addressed our mistakes and produced a good performance”.
“We’re all part of the team and are all pulling in the same direction. It's important that whoever gets to play performs well and is in good shape and we've shown that we are. It's a bonus for the team. We've now got a few days to rest up and we knew that it was important to win tonight to head into the Champions League game full of motivation”.
Benzema’s penalty misses
“Those things happen and he often ends up scoring them but today he didn't. He’s an important player for us and will score lots of goals between now and the end of the season”.
The Uruguayan is enjoying a fine season and in his 27 LaLiga outings he boasts an excellent record of 20 wins, five draws and just two defeats. During his Real Madrid career, he has lifted four pieces of silverware: a Club World Cup, a LaLiga title and a pair of Spanish Super Cups.
